ENHANCED MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM

Omega Sigma has created the Enhanced Membership Program to help enrich your membership experience. We encourage you to become an enhanced member and become more involved in the organization. Enhanced members will receive recognition for their chosen level of involvement based on our points system, as outlined in our Program. Other benefits to being an involved member include the chance to meet hundreds of people who share your interests, opportunities for travel to our Regional and International Conventions, and a life long appreciation for scholarship, leadership, fellowship, and service. Best of all, it’s just FUN!

POINT SYSTEM

*Here are some of the ways you can earn points

If you have any questions about this program, please send your problems to our officers’ email.

10	Take photos at a Phi Theta Kappa event and submit for publication on Omega Sigma’s website, newsletter, or for an article in the HCC Egalitarian or other publication (must be sent to the Chapter President for approval prior to publication)	20

15	Attend an Omega Sigma sponsored activity (other than a meeting)	n/a

40	Actively participate on a committee. Must sign up and contact Committee Chair weekly or as often as requested. Points will be awarded at the end of the semester, based on satisfactory participation.	40

All activities must be approved by the Chapter President before points can be awarded.
Any activities not listed here may be announced and awarded points at the discretion of Omega Sigma’s Officer and Advisor team.
Points can only be earned and accumulated during the current academic year (Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 semesters).
Points start over from zero (0) at the end of the Spring 2009 semester.

Example; if you earned 30 points during the Spring 2008 semester, 50 points in the Fall 2008 semester, and 100 points in the Spring 2009 semester you have a total of 150 points (points only counted for Fall 08 and Spring 09).

In Summer/Fall 2009 your point total is reset to 0 (you no longer have 150 points).

RECOGNITION SYSTEM

*Recognitions items earned at each level:

One Star Level	50 Points	Enhanced Member Certificate – Level One & an Invitation to appreciation banquet at year-end
Two Star Level	100 Points	Enhanced Member Certificate – Level Two & an Omega Sigma T-Shirt
Three Star Level	150 Points	Enhanced Member Certificate – Level Three & a Phi Theta Kappa Recognitions Item
Four Star Level	200 Points	Enhanced Member Certificate – Level Four & a Phi Theta Kappa Stole AND Tassel & Automatic nomination to Omega Sigma Hall of Honor ballot (members must vote at year-end)
Five Star Level	250 Points	Enhanced Member Certificate – Level Five & a Phi Theta Kappa Certificate Holder & Sponsorship to Texas Regional Convention at year-end

Any recognition not listed here may be announced and awarded at the discretion of Omega Sigma’s officer and advisor team.
Each recognition item is earned upon obtaining the set number of points for each level.
Earned recognition items can be received at the next general meeting by the Chapter President (unless other arrangements have been made).
Rewards can only be earned based on the number of points you have accumulated during the current academic year (Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 semesters).
Points start over from zero (0) at the end of the Spring 2009 semester.

Example; if you earned 30 points during the Spring 2008 semester, 50 points in the Fall 2008 semester, and 100 points in the Spring 2009 semester then you have reached the Three Star Level with a total of 150 points (points only counted for Fall 08 and Spring 09).

In Summer/Fall 2009 your point total is reset to 0 meaning you no longer have 150 points and you have a chance to earn more points and reach all of the Five Star Levels again.
